Brewed 1/16/2012 - My first full boil brew, what better way to try it than with a heavily hopped double IPA. I boiled 6 gallons in a turkey pot and there was 2 pints added when I sparged the grains. Luckily there wasn't any boil over because I was at the top of pot. I had to watch it like a hawk with spray bottle in hand. I did this on my kitchen stove and it took forever to get to a boil. It also took forever to chill this much liquid. Time to invest in a outdoor burner and a real wort chiler. My chiller worked okay for 2.5 gallons but not 5.5 gallons. I just dry hopped in the primary, threw in the 2oz. of Crystal. Bottled with 3/4 cup priming sugar. Tastes great, good balance, not a lot of aroma. Maybe I should have used different hops for dry hopping.
