I am currently a machinist in the heat treat field in the Aerospace sector for a major global supplier. I started brewing in 2005 and then stopped after moving to Ohio. I have recently decided to get back at it and am very passionate about my brew. I hope to get some refreshers and pointers as well as contribute when I can.

Used McGiver Mash Tun (foil wrapped ferment-er) wrapped in blanketWater temp in pot 170 FWater Temp in MT @ 161 @ 2:05Water Temp in MT @ 151 @ 3:38Emptied into pasta strainer with muslin bag. Smell was toasted caramel espresso/chocolate, almost a semi-sweet chocolate Not-so-pale ale.1 gallon sparge water @ 171 over low gas heat.Sparged over strainer and muslin bag full of grains 3x's.3/2/16 add 1/2 ounce of Amarillo hops to fermenter and pulled a gravity reading of 1.014
