All ingredients bought at Homebrewstuff on 8/31/1913 lbs of pale 2-rowYeast was put in cooler set at 62. Hops were vacummed sealed but not chilled for 2 days. Grain was sitting 2 days after crushing.Fisrt mash hit 154F, second was intially 140. Applied heat to mash tun to get temp 144 - 145. heating took 36 min.cooling boil to 73F in 17:18put in carboy, inton cooler and chilled to 62. Airated by shaking, put in yeasy. Yeast packet had not expanded.
Rainy day. Ambient temp at the start 49 'F. used batch sparging. 4.6 g for first mash. 4.5g for second mash
45'F dry day. Brewed in garage using softwater. Mashed with 5.25gal water at 166.3 to 154.3. Second sparge 3 gal @176'F. hit 156 sat for 15 min before 2nd run off. Only used .5lbs of black patent. Slow rolling boil
