- OG was only 1.40. However I took the sample an hour after I pitched the yeast into the primary Carboy. -

1st runnings was only about 2.5gal. not sure if thats why OG is only 1.45. Mashtun needs better efficiency. I stirred twice when checking temp. Didn't really get a clear run off. I only did 1 sparge at 162F. Should have spit into 2 and decreased the flow rate into the boil kettle. Should have used hotter water 168-180F.
