Normally I use German Wheat (3333) however I only had German Ale this time so lets see how it turns out!
I'll add 6 cups of watermelon juice about 3 or 4 days into fermentation.
Hit mash temp of 150 on the nose, however it dropped to 149 30 minutes in and was at 148 at 60 and 147 at 90 minutes. Sparged with 180 water(2.5 gal)stirred well, dunked the bag a few times and let sit for 15 minutes, temp stabilized at 162, stirred and dunked again, drained the grains and added to mash water. Preboil gravity was 1.042, should end up at 1.051 or so. OG came in at 1.052, good efficiency for this medium grain bill. Hit the 5.5 gallon volume spot on. Testing this batch with a ...
