Clone of Uinta Cutthroat Pale Ale. I'm adding an extra 1 lb of 2-row (12 lb total) and .25 lb of Crystal (1.25 lb total) to compensate for efficiency and be able to reach OG. I added .5 lb of carapils to improve head retention and lace? Mash will be done with batch sparging.

To create a light and darker version, pull .75 oz of 40l and steep separately in 2 qts of water brought to a boil, then held at 150 for 30 minutes, bring back to a boil for 10 minutes. Strain and discard grains, cool and add to one fermenter which will be the dark version when splitting wort into 2 fermenter at end of full recipe boil. Save the flameout hops to add at whirlpool for the dark batch only when temp down to 170 after filling first light fermenter with 5.25 gallons of wort. Use ...
