my boil size was 6.5 but should have been 6.8, which yielded me 5 gallons Everything went smoothly. I did not need to sparge the 2nd time, just one time did the trick. need a bigger pot than the 7 gallon i am using preboil gravity was 1.037-1.043 after being calibrated for nonstandard temp(range is because i cant remember the exact temp the wart was at when i took the gravity reading.) OG=1.062 need to figure out a way to get a cleaner product after transfering from kettle to carboy

Special Instructions

1.
for yeast starter: 5cups water to 1/2 cup DME boil for 15 minutes, cool to 60 degrees ish, take gravity reading(most recent was 1.032), pitch yeast and shake for 24 hours give or take

season mash tun with 1-2 gal boiling water

Mash 5.3 gals for 60minutes @ 154, strike temp of water 165.7
4.
Add first hop addition of 1oz of citra while draining from mashtun to brewkettle
5.
1st batch sparge of 3.5gal @168 for 15 mins
6.
2nd batch sparge of 3.5gal until pre-boil vol reached @168 for 10 mins
7.
take gravity reading pre boil(most recent brew was 1.037-1.043)
8.
Boil 75 mins add hops as stated above
9.
cool using copper cooling ring(took 55 minutes to get to 70 degrees)
10.
sanitize carboy
11.
transfer brew kettle to carboy
12.
Take gravity reading right before pitching yeast this will be OG
13.
Ferment at 64-68 degrees for 7-10 days
14.
Check gravity 2 days in a row at the 10 day mark to ensure fermentation has stopped
15.
dry hop for 7-10 days
16.
Check FG just before bottling
17.
bottle for 3-4 weeks
