An amazing beer that is made very tart by a healthy heap of Rhubarb straight from the garden. Phenomenal. The yeast gives just a nice solid hint of sour, the rhubarb kicks in it’s signature taste (and I swear a bit of a strawberry flavor as well), but none of it is overwhelming in any way. In fact, the whole thing can taste like a BudMillerCoors if you’re not thinking carefully about it (it did end up at 1.004 after all).

Hi! Im a newbiebrewer and i was thinking of adding rhubarb to a partial mash saison. Did you peel the rhubarbs? when did you add them to the beer? When adding fruits some people seem to add it to the secondary fermentation and some people add it during the last minutes of the boiling...

The reason to add it to the boil in the last couple minutes would be for sanitation purposes. I've never had an issue with infection, so I don't worry about (although I clean it with a scrub brush). I just scrub it and then chop it up into 1/2" segments. I add it to the secondary and it comes out nicely. Good luck!
