Since I'm using an old slurry, I'm putting together a vitality starter, so to speak, by putting 200mL into 1L of 1.036 wort to go on a stirplate for 24 hours. When I bought the grains, I had to mill the oat malt 3 times to get a good crush.1.052 first runnings. Collected 7 gallons of wort with a gravity of 1.036, so I boiled a little harder to get the volume down. The Randall still gave me grief, even with the rice hulls and loose leaf hops.
