Under shot mash temp. 132 for 30 min, up to 156 for 30 min (target 150). Lesson: H2O THEN grain in MT to avoid heat loss. MT needs add'l insulation, used blanket still lost 1.5deg every 10 min. Under shot OG by 12 pts 1034 vs 1046 @75?fencicy. Calculation put mash tun at 55% efficiency. Added .75lb pilsen DME to primary to adjust. Based on calc this added 0006 to brew for total og of 1040. Final gravity 5%brix 1.020 on refractometer. 1016 on old hydrometer 1016 on new hydrometer. ...
