Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Mash: 1.75 qts water @ 160 degrees. Add to grain. Mash for 1 hour between 144 and 152.
2.
Sparge: 1 gallon of 170 degree water.
3.
Boil: (1) six inch long sprig of spruce at 55 minutes.
4.
Ferment: Half-packet of Safale S-04. Ferment for 14 days.
5.
Bottle: Mix 3 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup with 3 Tablespoons hot water. Mix into the beer. Let bottle condition for at least 14 days.
6.
Final ABV will be around 5.7% due to the molasses.
