All Grain American IPA homebrew recipe. This homebrew recipe uses the following ingredients: 2-Row - US, Crystal 40L - CA, Warrior Hops, Centennial Hops, Challenger Hops, White Labs California Ale WLP001 Homebrew Yeast.
Color came out a bit darker than planned, closer to a 9.
Virtually no nose on it. Next time I will copy the flame out hops and do a 4 day dry hop.
The beer has a maltiness beyond a typical IPA, however this is something I was shooting for and is well balanced by a large bitter hop background.
Hops add a nice subtle fruity/floral flavor.
The beer has nice medium low body and the carbonation of 2.5 vols works perfectly.
Has a nice creamy white head that builds up to ~1" at pour, and falls to ~1/8" that lasts throughout the glass and leaves a very satistfying lacing.
This is a very drinkable beer. Would definitley give this a 4 star rating if the aromas were more pronounced.
Changes to next round:
Cut back the crystal 40 from 11oz to 8oz
2oz Challenger 4 day dry hop
2oz Centennial 4 day dry hop
