Mash Steps

Steep rye and smoked malt

Special Instructions

1.
Steep/mash grain in bag at 148-155 for 40-45 minutes.
2.
After steeping/mash remove grain bag and slowly drain
3.
Sparge by slowly pouring 1.5 liters water* over bag
4.
Bring to boil, add hops, boil for 45 minutes
5.
Add honey to remaining 1.5 gallon in carboy, shake to mix
6.
Siphon hot wort to must, shake to mix. Add yeast to 4oz water
7.
Cool must in ice bath. Take OG• Pitch yeast when must is ~80
9.
*From additional bottle, not brew water. Room temperature

•OG was right at 1.050
