Mash Steps

No mash steps in this recipe

Special Instructions

1.
Pour 4.5 Litres of boiling water into mash tun to preheat it
2.
Boil 9.5L strike water to 70c (Target Mash Temp is 66c)
3.
Dump preheat water from mash tun
4.
Add strike water to mash tun
5.
Add grain, stir well.
6.
Mash at 66c for 75mins
7.
Stir every 20 mins & keep temp
8.
Boil 27L water of sparge water (76c)
9.
Sparge at 76c. Rest for 30mins
10.
Collect 3.5L of 1st runnings and (carefully) pour back into mash tun
11.
Repeat until mash runs clear (no grain)
12.
Pour mash into brew kettle
13.
Sparge mash, stir and let sit for 15 mins
14.
Vorlauf & run off into brew kettle.
15.
Repeat until desired amount is in brew kettle
16.
Bring to boil - do not let boil over!
17.
Add hops at 60 mins
18.
Add hops at 30 mins
19.
Insert wort chiller at 15 mins (bring back to boil)
20.
Add Yeast Nutrient at 15mins
21.
Add Irish moss at 15mins
22.
Add hops at 3 mins
23.
Let cool to 22c (approx 20 mins)
24.
Santize fermenter & other equip
25.
Take your OG after the cool down, prior to pitching the yeast.
26.
Move wort to fermenter. Agitate once poured. Shake it!!
27.
Add yeast, agitate again.
28.
Ferment at 19c for 12 days
29.
Rack into a secondary fermenter
30.
Dry hop in a sterilized muslin bag for last 5 days at 14c
31.
Take FG reading
