Added 1/8tsp Calcium Chloride Hit the perfect volume for collection. Calculated out the volumes for mash tun and sparge perfectly. Get that whisky. Mini-me hop addition started at 60 min, not 75 min like RIS. Added 0.5 lbs of DME to bring to 1.104 Partygile to produce The Chief (RIS) and Mini-me (low gravity stout) Hop additions on this page are for the RIS ONLY! Cut hop weights in half and continue with same addition times for Mini-me. Boil time for Mini-me is 60 mins. Additional Notes: Used Morebeer.com/brewtechniques to estimate: The entire OG of ~1.083 RIS OG = 1.110 RIS Pre boil OG ~ 1.054 Mini-me OG = 1.055 Mini-me Pre boil OG ~ 1.033 Techinque will be to create this one large batch, and using the first runnings and probably a small amount of the sparge to create the RIS. Rest of the sparge will create Mini-me. RIS to be boiled in 5gal pot, Mini-me in normal 1gal pot. Mini-me will be first to start and finish. RIS will follow and be cooled the same. Before pitching, aerate the wort with O2 kit for both brews. RIS will need 1.5 packets of the yeast, Mini-me will have 0.5. 2 gal kettle evaporation rate: 0.625 gal/hr using 23 total cups (to the bottom of the rivets) 5 gal kettle evaporation rate: 0.792 gal/hr using 32 total cups (2 gals) Runoff is 4 gals total Sparge with 3 gals Mash with 2.4 gals Mash temp at 0min = 152F Mash temp at 30min = 151.8F Mash temp at 60min = missed Mash temp at 90min = 149 RIS Pre Boil OG Measured = 1.052 at 81F RIS OG before addition of DME = 1.084 RIS OG = 1.104 RIS FG = 1.052 Mini-me OG = 1.034 Mini-me Pre boil OG = 1.024 Mini-me FG = 1.016
