Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Mash w/ 6.1425 quarts (6764 g) water @ 152F (67C) for 60 min.
2.
Infuse the mash with boiling water to raise the temperature to mash out at 168 ?F (76 ?C). Rest for 10 min.
3.
Sparge slowly with 170 ?F (77C) water, collecting wort to the pre-boil kettle volume of 8.68 quarts 8214 g
4.
Collect an additional 1.6 quarts of wort.
5.
60 min boil. Add additional wort to the boil to maintain the level at the rivets. (This is how I measure on my kettle)
6.
1/2 tsp. Irish Moss @ 15 min. and 2 1/4 tsp. Fermax @ 10 min.
7.
Move wort to ice bath to chill. Add 1 quart (946 g) pre-boiled ice cube
