I like lagers and I don't have the set up for lagering so I decided to do a hybrid. I brewed this during the winter months so my basement was in the lower sixties which I think was perfect for the yeast. The result was a really smooth, medium bodied beer that finishes crystal clear.

I recommend doubling the yeast. I did a 1.6L starter with one packet on a stir plate in addition to a newer packet without a starter.

I entered the first version of the recipe in a few competition and it didn't win but it got great reviews. For the winning version I increased the hops and used only whole hops. Dry hopping with fresh whole hops gave it the punch of aroma it needed.

The reports of the Blliwhack monster date back as far as 1950. It has been primarily known to attack teenagers and small children who make the mistake of trespassing on it's claimed territory located on the property of the old Billywhack Dairy located in Santa Paula, California.
