First time brewing, used 10 lbs 2 row and added .625 lbs table sugar because my efficiency was way underwhelming and needed to boost the OG. Adjusted recipe up to 11 lbs two row for future batches.

Notes:

Still my favorite brew so far. Dare I give this a five star? Nah, i'll wait until i give it a second try and perfect the recipe with no sugar added! Will use Nottingham or Bells yeast to see if I can improve flavor and will more carefully fly sparge to improve efficiency. Not going to mess with hops schedule though.

Notes:

5.9ABV. Great balance of hops and malt. Leans toward IPA, but not overpowering. This would be a nice recipe to do again with Nottingham instead of US05. Shared at a party and received a quote "I wouldn't change a thing" from one sampler.

Notes:

Mellowed out nicely. Still get a fresh malt flavor even for such a dry beer. nicely balanced hops. not much detectable honey, but some fruitiness probably from the amarillo hops. Not strong tasting as it ended as a 5.9 ABV brew.

Notes:

Sampled the first bottle after a week of carbing in the bottle. Still needs a few days to get fully carbonated, but flavors are really nice. Fruity with a bit of sweetness but a dry finish. Hint of honey present, but not over-powering. Very impressed with how this recipe ended up. should be really nice after a few weeks bottle conditioning. Will try next time swapping nottingham for the US05.

Notes:

Not overly hoppy, balanced between a sierra Nevada and Dales pale ale sort of blend, but closer to SN. Not as hoppy as an IPA but definitely has a bite with good floral hop aroma. This is heading exactly where I hoped it would as i pulled a sample when racking to secondary.

Notes:

Really nice balance of hops and light caramel undertones with this pale ale. Similar to a sierra Nevada and Dales pale ale sort of blend. Not as hoppy as an IPA but definitely has a bite with good floral hop aroma. This is heading exactly where I hoped it would as i pulled a sample when racking to secondary.
