Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Bring 3gallons water to 165F
2.
Put bag in then mix in grains while stirring to get a mash temp of 152F
3.
Rest for 1 hour
4.
Heat 4.5Gallons sparge water to 169F while mash rests
5.
Pull out Grain bag and dunk in the sparge water. Let rest for 10 minutes.
6.
Pull out grain bag and let drain.
7.
Add sparge water to mash water for a pre boil of 6.5 Gallons. Pre-boil should be1.038.
8.
Bring wort to a boil with the lid on the pot.
9.
When wort reaches a boil, remove lid. Add Saaz bittering hop.
10.
Stir wort occasionally and continue to boil
11.
After 50 minutes add amarillo flavor hop. Put in wort chiller
12.
Boil 10 more minutes. Turn off heat and let stand 15 minutes
13.
Add amarillo and citra aroma hops. Cover pot and let stand 30 minutes.
14.
Sanitize equipment. Cool wort <70F. Pour Wort into fermentor. Shake Fermentor to originate wort
15.
Take a hydrometer sample and make sure temp is <70. Record OG.
16.
Add yeast. Let sit at65-70F for 3-4 weeks.
17.
Take hydrometer reading
