Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Preheat oven to 425F
2.
Make a thin cut into each chestnut
3.
Place chestnuts into sauce pan and cover with water
4.
Bring to simmer
5.
Remove chestnuts from water and place on baking sheet
6.
Roast chestnuts at 425F for 15 minutes
7.
Remove chestnuts and place in a covered bowl for 15 minutes
8.
Remove the outer shell and brown skin from each chestnut
9.
Chop and set aside 20 chestnuts for use in the boil
10.
Mash remaining 10 chestnuts and dehydrate for use in secondary
11.
Dry hop the chestnuts for 3 - 5 days

Notes:

I had lots of positive comments about this beer, but I did not like it. Apparently I don't like chestnuts, and though subtly, they were off putting for me.
