Mash Steps

Special Instructions

  1. Mix the grain bill with 1 pound of Grape Nuts cereal.
  2. Mash in 4.4 quarts of water at 131F.
  3. Hold at 122F (protein rest) for 30 minutes.
  4. Add 2 quarts of boiling water; temp will rise to 147F.
  5. Hold at 147F for 30 minutes.
  6. Add 1 quart of boiling water; temp will rise to 155F.
  7. Hold at 155F for 30 minutes.
  8. Heat water to 168F and sparge with sufficient water to top off to boil volume.
  9. Add 1/4 tsp Irish Moss along with 10-minute hop addition.
  10. Add honey to last 5 minutes of boil (I used orange blossom honey).
