All Grain American IPA homebrew recipe. This homebrew recipe uses the following ingredients: 2-Row - US, Caramel/Crystal 10 - US, Magnum Hops, Perle Hops, Centennial Hops, Chinook Hops, Wyeast London ESB Ale 1968 Homebrew Yeast, whirlfloc tablet.
So I actually didn't get my OG rating on this beer because my hydrometer was broken at the time. But I think I got very close considering I get a buzz really quickly. Also I got this recipe from the Stone Brewing Co. article they posted and their recommendations although I used WYEAST instead of the White labs yeast they recommended. So tasting notes
Clarity: Fairly clear but a little haze I would say comparative to the real stone IPA.
Aroma: Very Centennial aroma, I think my Chinook hops did not dry hop as well because I added them on top of the fermenter.
Taste: I think I definitively nailed it. I used 6 AAU of magnum and 4.5 AAU perl.
Overall, I would probably give the original stone IPA a 4 out of 5 and this recipe is spot on. Just lacking a little Chinook aroma that I wanted but could be due to lack of good dry hopping but maybe I would recommend adding a little Chinook at the end of the boil.
